Document Summary

Know the three phases of rubp , in & out, where they come from and where they go to. Organization of genetic material: cell theory, all living things are made of cells, cells are the smallest units of life, cells come only from other cells by cell division. Cell division is an integral part of the cell cycle. All the dna in a cell constitutes the cells genome: In prokaryotic cells= a single dna molecule. Dna molecules in a cell are packaged into chromosomes. Eukaryotic chromosomes consist of chromatin, a complex of dna and protein that condenses during cell division. Every eukaryotic species has a characteristic number of chromosomes in each cell nucleus. In a haploid cell (n) there is one copy of each chromosome, gametes. In a diploid cell (2n) there are two copies of each chromosome. One inherited from mom and one from dad. During preparation for mitosis, each chromosome is doubled.
