Carolus linnaeus developed the concept of binomial nomenclature (two names) Landforms by mechanisms that are currently operating in the world: evidence of change. Evolution = descent with modification = (change in alleles over time in a population) more than one mechanism. Natural selection = one evolutionary mechanism, differential survival and replication. Population - a group of the same species that is interbreeding and sharing a gene pool. Members of a population often vary greatly in their traits -> variety.
