People who are depressed participate in emotional avoidance. Tend to play a role in maintaining depression. People become more cold and hostile towards people with depression. Aaron beck"s cognitive therapy (and it"s variants) looks at negative cognitive processes. Help clients think through negative fears and outcomes and have them re-think options.
