Types of countries: core countries (first world, industrialized for global economy, semi-periphery countries (second world, industrialized for local economy, periphery countries (third world, produce resources for industrialized countries) Have a trump card over the workers. Consequently: intensifies the dispossession of the workers (aka proletarianization) Emergence of communist idea during this time not a surprise. Recognition of commonality and interests with members of same socioeconomic stratum. No longer clear delineation between rich and poor.
