Darwin- origin of the species (1858), discovered natural selection. Natural selection- a mechanism in which evolution can occur, it argues that some species have advantages over others, certain characteristics enables certain functions from occurring, the differences lead to competition and advantages. *natural selection is a process through which evolution can occur. * survival of the fittest is natural selection not evolution.
