Infertility- inability to conceive after 12-18 months of trying. Miscarriage- embryo detached from the wall of uterus and is expelled. Spina bifida- spine isn"t completely cover and is exposed to the tail end of the body. Premature birth: underweight baby, damage to nervous system and brain development, more vulnerable to illness. What age is best to have a baby: more likely to get pregnant in 20"s than 30"s, women in 40"s, high risk of miscarriage, higher risk of baby with down syndrome. Produces hormones that reduce flow of oxygen to the baby: weakens mother immune system.
