What are the risks (put into writing) Freedom from coercion: we cannot coerce or force people to participate in our study. Protection from harm: as the researcher, i have to take every possibly precaution to protect my subjects from physical, emotional, or psychological harm. Risk benefit analysis: server pain, psychological trauma, or risks greater than they would ordinarily take in their everyday lives. Deception: psychologists may only used deception with it is justified by the studies scientific, educational, or applied value: when no alternative procedures are feasible, must inform subject what real purpose of procedure. Debriefing: done if a participant was deceived in any way the subject must be debriefed: verbally describing and purpose of the study. Confidentiality: we are obligated to keep private information confidential. Neuron: cells in the nervous system that communicate with one an other to preform information processing tasks (100 billion nerve cells in our brain)
