The us used to give food to other countries, but this is no longer necessary: ex. India they are shipping food out of their country now. The idea of comparative advantage should be used to uplift the world, and then overall growth will occur. A downside to this is that terrorism has no borders. We must think of poverty in the whole world, not just in the us. In order to solve poverty, we need to know where they live and the extent of the poverty. America is good at eliminating some problems, but not so good at eliminating poverty. Some of the problems we have here are determined by society as a whole, but we also need to focus on the individual. There are plenty of people who work full-time but don"t make enough and fall below the poverty level.
