When the demands on things exceed your expectations. Stress: the physical and psychological and response to internal or external stressors. Ex: getting a paper cut, failing a class. Rational; depends on a person on which event is stressful. Chronic stressors: sources of stress that occur continuously or repeated. Do not necessarily go away; people have to deal with all the time: ex: People who think they will fail, will fail. When you feel like you do not have any control, they will just accept it. Flight-or-flight response: an emotional and physiological research to an emergency that increases readiness for action.
