Document Summary

Quiz 3 is due by midnight tuesday covering chapter 8. Exam 1 is wednesday in lab: covers topics from day 1 through today. Exam rules: similar to quiz except no help from teachers or neighbors. 30 multiple choice questions: experimenter vs. placebo effect. If we want to avoid experimenter effect then we just blind experimenter. If we want to avoid placebo effect, then we blind the subject. We would rather do an experiment over observational study. We cant do an experiment for everything: interpreting quartiles and median. No duplicate questions change at most to at least. Doesn"t have to be one at q1 and one at q3: sampling methods. Results only reflect the sample or those who participated in the survey: ex. 100% of people said steelers would win. Only the people who took the poll!!! If he randomly takes people in our class it only represents the class.
