Sexual arousal associated with unusual activities or targets. Persistent sexual urges and fantasies associated with: Suffering or humiliation of oneself or partner. Paraphilia that leads to distress or impairment for the client or that causes harm to other people. Central problem is that sexual arousal is detached from loving relationships with another adult. Themes of aggression, violence, and hostility are common. Often impulses involving strangers or unwilling partners. Compulsive: compelled to engage in degrading/harmful acts. Loss of arousal with actual consenting human partners. Any intense and persistent sexual interest other than sexual interest in genital stimulation or preparatory fondling with a phenotypically normal, physically mature, consenting human partner . Clinically significant distress or impairment to self or others. Impairment: compulsory, produce sexual dysfunction, or require participation of nonconsenting persons. The only difference between these disorders is the focus or target of sexual arousal. Being highly sexually aroused by non living objects.
