Visual attention gravitates to movements and sound, rather than socially- relevant stimuli (e. g. eyes, emotional expression) Ex: 1 year old w/o autism looks at eyes of another person, but with autism , looks at mouth. Lack of spontaneous shared environment with others. Ability to recognize others" emotions and respond to them well. Some of those with asd have difficulties with theory of mind.
