Document Summary

The learning of voluntary behavior through the effects of pleasant and unpleasant consequences to responses. Classical is talking about what happens before the response. A cat rewarded after opening a door. As the number of trials increased, the quicker they were opening the door. The pleasurable response increased their learning process because of a reward. Any event or stimulus that when it follows a response it increases the probability that that response will occur again. Know that it is increasing the rate of some behavior. Negative reinforcement (taking away something that isn"t pleasurable) Removal, escape, or avoidance of aversive stimulus. Getting a job, removing having no money. Instead of getting money for getting good grades, you don"t have to do chores. When you use an umbrella you"re taking away the experience of getting rained on which increases the likelihood of having an umbrella on you.
