Key questions: what is the developmental context, how do we define problems and people, is preventing or treating the problem best done by focusing on the individual. Impact on interventions is to change behavior: its difficult to change behavior without changing environment. Direct relationships between people and environment: both indirectly and directly effect child. Bidirectionality- effects go both ways: people effect environment and vice versa. Has different effects based on when it happens in lifespan. Layers of the context that an intervention targets: interventions ecological niche. Can target any layer or more than one at the same time. Setting of intervention is important: it doesn"t mean that that is where the intervention is targeted to. Macrosystem- the law is 21 to drink legally. Road maps- explain how activities in program are related to the long-term goals of the program: tell us where we are going and how to get there.
