Problem: prevent alcoholism: population: universal, might focus on all children in a school, ***just because you"re placed in a selected subgroup doesn"t mean you"ll develop the problem. Just that you"re at a greater risk: indicated would be targeting individuals who are already showing signs of alcohol abuse. Universal: advantages: no labeling or stigma. Selective: advantages: potential to address problem early on, larger benefits to individual, potentially efficient because we aren"t spending money on people who don"t need it.
