Allow child to provide as much information as possible. Open it up by saying tell me what happened in the bathroom : suggestive/leading, multiple choice questions. The interview approach is flexible: give child space, child: Feel safe and comfortable there, then let them disclose from: paying attention to child"s body language there. Shift when they shift topics from talking about school incident. Interviewer is able to modify their approach to adapt to the child and circumstance: child walking parameter of the room. Child comfortable walking around the room sometimes. How they are processing what happened: match the pace of the child"s speech. Have to slow down sometimes: pay attention to the process time. Don"t have them in the room for too long. Video-recording is best and most accurate way to document.
