Let’s write like scientists.
Academic Writing should (generally) be:
o Rational
o Objective
o Scientifically informed
Of course, each author brings themselves into the writing process, so absolute objectivity is
impossible. Rationality, objectivity and a worldview influenced by science represent a
philosophical backgrounding that should be clearly evident in major, formal writing
assignments for this class.
1st draft feedback & scores for Extended Definition Essay: Very, very basic.
1) Submitted on time?
2) Word count alright?
3) Page format okay?
4) Other little things, maybe
5) Score out of 2.0 (1.9 = maximum)
