ESL015: “Composition for American Academic Communication II”

BOBEN’S BASIC CLASS RULES:
• Get the textbook and bring it to every class, please.
• Please bring your laptops to every class.
• Carefully read and comprehend the syllabus, schedule and other documents posted on
“Canvas”, please.
• Study and practice with precision the “Page Formatting Guidelines” posted on
“Canvas”.
• Check “Notes from Class” on “Canvas” every day.
• Check your PSU Canvas email EVERY DAY (2+ times)!!
• Come to every class on time and prepared.
• BE ENTHUSIASTIC. PARTICIPATE ACTIVELY IN CLASS AND KEEP UP
WITH THE WORK!
IMPORTANT: One requirement for this class to take advantage of one-on-one tutoring at least
once by November 10. Alternatively, you may participate in ESL005 or ENG005. These are
one credit courses (free!) that provide ongoing tutoring in support of ESL015. Experienced
tutors assist you with all elements of the writing process and help you with assignments for this
class. It requires you to meet with a tutor about once a week for about an hour. You will
receive the same grade as you do in this class (assuming that you participate appropriately).
✓ For ENG005, there is a Google Form link that you may use to sign up, beginning at
7:00am Wednesday August 23! SEATS ARE LIMITED SO SIGN UP ASAP!! Go to:

✓ You may also enroll in ESL005 (but not both ENG005 and ESL005!). Details about
