One of the roles of school is to teach social skills cooperative learning. Students studying together: practice with a partner quiz each other, check each other. Something we do at the end of the unit to bring the unit together: capstone activity. Synthesis- write a story describing the classroom in spanish. Time is irrelevant, it is based on how the instructional unit ties together. Criticized because research is only based on some of the content we see in schools. Such as vocabulary, math computation, bibliography: same characteristics. One correct or narrow range of answers. We teach other things such as problem solving, reading comprehension, a research paper: characteristics. Presentations are short, because there is not a lot to say: lots of guided practice, it"s the same model, just adjusted to fit the content.
