Only 10% of whites reports being hassled: research on link between race and arrest likelihood is mixed. Youth attitudes toward police: black teens and lower class youth hold more negative views of police than others. Some cite personal experience with discrimination or hassling: a 2009 study found that youths overall (reguardless of race) have lower opinions of police if they have seen police stop other youth and treat them with disrespect. Even delinquent youth have more favorable opinions when police act with fairness. This includes more than 19,000 sworn of cers nationwide: in 2012, schools referred 260,000 students to law enforcement; 92,000 students had school related arrests.
