Bio 240w test 1 study guide: hierarchy. Cells histology is the study of cells. 4 tissue types: epithelia, connective, muscle, nerve. It is the study of structures at cellular level. Simple squamous cells are found where gas exchange occurs; allows for diffusion. Simple cuboidal cells are found in glands, secretion. Simple columnar cells are found in the digestive tract, stomach & intestine, secretion and absorption. Psuedostratified columnar are found in the fallopian tubes and respiratory systems.
