At the battle of phillip 1 ocatviiou and marc antony beat brutus and cassius (these guys commit suicide) But the empire remains divided, antonius takes control of the east and octavius takes control of the west, the senate was pretty much dead. Antonius was the one who won the battle, thus he gets to choose first. Ocatvious wants to get rid of marc antony cuz he want to rule over everything. But he needed a reason to fight him. Marc anthony falls madly in love with cleopatra, so in love that he divorces his roman wife and marries cleopatra the roman people don"t like this, this made it better because marc antony cheated on octavian sister octavia.
