Document Summary

Circular and longitudinal muscles make 2 different muscle patterns possible. Circular muscles contract at inch 1, 4, 7, 10. As the bolus moves, the one behind it is relaxed. Your circular muscles might contract to break down bolus into segments at inch 1. Then they will contract and inch 1 and and 2 and to break the bolus down even smaller. Once bolus is fractionated, circular and longitudinal muscles slosh the material back and forth in the intestine. Something in small or large intestine that should not be there, and your body moves it out as fast as possible (you get the squirts)! Accelerated muscle contractions without absorbing water out of the material. Leave stuff in digestive system too long. You keep on pulling water out of it. Then it becomes too dry for normal muscular movement. Serosa layer: consists of loose connective tissue. One the outside (visceral peritoneum: simple squamous epithelium which makes serous fluid)
