Document Summary

The rig veda, the oldest and most sacred written text in hinduism, consists of over. It is important to remember that each of the texts within the rig veda is extremely unique and has its own purpose. Veda, there are gods which in some type of way resemble humans because they have desires which are similar to humans, such as birth, marriage, and death. Gods are not always morally perfect and they can sometimes do the wrong things. The gods are dependent on humans for ritual sacrifices to be made for their own good and so the gods can continue to prosper. There are also anti-gods, which have the same type of properties as a god (especially the human characteristics), but they could be sometime more moral than actual gods. However, we cannot assume that gods are good and anti-gods are bad. Humans do not perform any rituals or sacrifices to anti-gods.
