Most widely administered personality test in the world. Given millions of times a year to employees in thousands of companies. Categorizes ppl into 1 of 4 categories on each of 4 dimensions: introversion vs. extraversion, sensing vs. intuiting, thinking vs. Measure isn"t psychologically useful b/c it"s not reliable/valid: ppl"s classifications change over time, scores on mbti don"t relate to other measures of personality/behavior, projective techniques: Projective measures: measures of personality in which unstructured stimuli are shown to participants, who are asked to freely list what comes to mind as they think about the stimuli. Incomplete sentences: experts then score responses for clues to personality, proposed advantage of test is it"s more indirect as it allows respondent to freely express whatever comes to mind. Most of the sketches are of ppl. Some are alone, some are w/ others: tat assumes ppl may be unwilling/unable to admit true feelings when asked directly.
