Objectives who help you in war (e. g. genocide) War and suffering have always been exacted by humans to achieve certain goals. Wars were short b/c their societies would fall apart from lack of infrastructure. Armies were made of part-time soldiers who were farmers most of the time. People settle into larger cities and increase population. People are able to make and keep written records. People pick specialties and skills (blacksmiths, farmers, soldiers, etc. ) Last longer b/c there is no risk of losing societal productivity when men leave for war. Societies are unable to wage long wars w/o risking collapse. Gunpowder is imported from asia and europe learns how to make gunpowder on their own. Fortresses and castles have to be rebuilt to withstand cannons rather than catapults. Training soldiers is much faster (albeit shorter in range than a longbow) Na(cid:448)al (cid:448)essels propulsio(cid:374) syste(cid:373)s are (cid:373)o(cid:448)ed outside of the ship"s lo(cid:449)er interior.
