Competent and high-fidelity completion of practices that have been demonstrated to be effective. Funding sources and government agencies increasingly emphasizing ebp. Most services are not based on any evidence that the services actually work. It is not: client testimonials, client satisfaction ratings, and single case or single- group pre-post test improvement without equivalent comparisons. Efficacy trails: intervention that yields effects under ideal intervention circumstances. Effectiveness trails: take place in field settings under freer controls, and answer the question of whether the model will work when it is put into a larger practice. Evaluation that focuses on the bottom-line outcomes that directly reflect the ultimate goal of the program. Not temporary goals that are associated with experimental assessment.
