Facts: basic questions (who, what, where, when, how, facts about the period/characters and given circumstances. History: the back story of the play. Conditions: a look at the environment (economic, social, political, cultural, class and religious structure, playwright and playwriting (wright vs. write) Wright: maker, builder, worker, playwright: the person who constructs the play, responsible for the structure of the play. Write: the actual writer of the play. Playwright"s task: conceive of an event with conflict, determine focus, establish purpose and point of view, develop dramatic structure, create dramatic characters, craft language, construct a performable script.
