Intrastate wars (within one country i. e. civil war): increasing. Hypothesis why this is happening is many countries are made up of many ethnic groups, but were united under colonialism. Only 9% of countries are made up of one ethnic group ex japan, sweden, finland, iceland, Once ethnic groups are made you can"t really do anything about it, and ethnic conflicts will always be around. Ethnic groups have common dislike for their neighbors and common thought on their history. 3 ways of dealing with ethnic conflict: power sharing: in order to avoid conflict power is shared between the groups. Federalism: establishing self automis regions so they act as different regions where they are and run the area like they want, but as a country they act as one.
