Conjunctions, pronouns, auxiliary verbs, determiners, prepositions, inflectional suffixes. Free: can stand alone to signal meaning. Bound: have to be attached to another morpheme to mean anything. Falls, lakes, unwell, enable, flatter: attach to a root morpheme, which carries the core referential meaning. Derivational affixes: derive new words from existing ones. Re + work = rework: prefixes, infixes, suffixes. Inflect but do not change content of word: changes grammatical meaning of word.
