Ken dodge study longitudinal followed over time all the way into late adolescence. Early dispositional factors, measured in really early childhood: attentional problems, hyperreactivity (super sensitivity to any sort of cue/stimulus, most of other categories/variable were assessed later in time. 1. all of these dispositional factors (ones previously listed see last lecture) basically predict onset of interpretive bias (tendency to perceive otherwise ambiguous cues as malicious/hostile/threatening) interpretive bias mediates/predicts onset of aggressive behavior. Parental abuse is only a correlation, not a cause; can"t prove that it"s a cause: correlational study, not causal study. Abuse is self reported (could be used for sympathy; they are convicted violent offenders) Also find a lot more poverty in this sample of people fair/impartial treatment by people in justice system is not likely justice system skewed in favor of money. Seem not to feel feelings of others.
