His first wife: after they are married, she begins sleeping with a friend of his, so they split. Had gods, dragons - holy freaking smokes this guy had elephants on stage. Not just scenery, but one unified whole. Wagner had such a concept of this unified old, had to build his own theater! Throughout his career, had to reconstruct entire theaters just to fit his set or orchestra! libretto- all the words, all the plotting. Wagner a control freak - wrote all music of these operas (some 4 hrs at the time) wrote entire.
