Argues that crime lms often give us a contradictory sort of satisfaction. Natural functions-tied to power (especially worlds we don"t see on our own: resource on being criminal, the trustworthiness of the police, etc. How are crime lms pleasurable: you"re separated from the dangerous aspect of the actual crime, mystery aspect, ponder moral choices without having to make them, cultural space for the expression of resistance to authority.
