The division of labor is greatly tied to traditional gender oppositions in all parts of society, including physical, mental and emotional labor. And also explains how this division of labor is what sets the qualities that make these oppositions, as well as enhancing them. Which just means that certain jobs require you to have a specific skill set, but in doing that job, you also improve your knowledge with those skills, adding to the traditional oppositions. In all societies, the division of labor comes down to power and status, making it more a division of value. The division of value comes down to patriarchal or just male-dominated societies in which positions of public power or wealth or of any so-called importance" are considered men"s activities. Females often have very little influence, often dependent upon the social status of her male relatives.
