8:24 pm: block is first line of defense, blockers also need to watch left-handed setters in case they decide to hit and not set. Soft block: someone who is short, position hands few inched from net, wrists cocked back. Jump with arm swing: blockers should be ready to also be hitter so should be ready to watch the ball when it goes over, grass/sand, 1 finger, blocking line, 2 finger, blocking angle. Seeing the ball near you as a personal emergency: keep arms separated to allow movement in any direction, absorb, keep body behind ball, keeps ball on your side, tilt shoulders back and hips forward, run-through. Large step forward: running through the ball even after contact, emergency floor movement. Sprawl: step and slide, can add arm extension, pancake. Libero can only bump to attacker if in front of line. Libero can set to attack if behind line.
