Birds: average intelligence and visual recognition of 3-4 year old children. Bird classifications: order passeriformes, most common birds that we see (not most common pet, 65 families, order clumiformes, good working birds, not necessarily good pets, doves and quails. Birds of prey: not very common, but some people work with them, ex) red-tailed hawk, sport of falconry starts about 12,000 15,000 years ago, must be licensed, prove housing and equipment, etc. Many pet birds are only 1-2 generations removed from the wild: behavior issues are seen in the home that are really only normal wild bird behaviors. Wild birds: one of the biggest threats are cats! It is okay if they are not fed them and turn white. Basic bird housing: aviaries are best, need natural branches, don"t use sand paper unless you only do it about once a month, otherwise, they can bleed, natural sunlight id possible.
