This chapter may seem outdated as most of the early theories are found ancient, not applicable to the modern challenges of crime. Recently, politicians have taken a closer look at crime. Strange bedfellows are emerging for even bi- partisan for conservative republicans and liberal democrats. These are just some of the pertinent questions society is asking in america. Does the media have a role in influencing how we consider criminals and crime itself.
