Phenotype - the set of observable characteristics of an individual resulting from the interaction of its genotype with the environment. Genotype - the genetic constitution of an individual organism. Many common mammalian companion animals are domesticated; e. g dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, etc. Many fish, birds, and reptiles are not truly domesticated; They may be wild caught or captive bred.
