Maslow"s hierarchy of needs: physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, esteem needs, self-actualization. Hierarchy of needs: need, product, promotional appeal. Why did you by your last pair of shoes: the problem that advertisers face becomes evident: they have to figure out what the majority of people want and then sell them on that benefit. So what the heck does this have to do with advertising: many people who were once was well of financially were struggling just to get by.
