PSY 112 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Cognitive Psychology, Sensitivity And Specificity
Document Summary
Cognitive psychology is the study of how the mind and how people think, understand, and process information. Research in cognitive psychology is performed to find the ideal world of human memory and perception, typically through case studies of individuals, interviews, computer modeling, reaction times, and recall vs recognition tests. After watching all the videos participants were given 4 minutes to recall as many words as possible, using the recall method. Later participants were given words and had to identify, which if any film a word came from, which utilizes the recognition method.
