According to the world health organization millions of women die each year from conditions that could be avoided if they were men. Violence against women is a human rights violation. +sometimes as high as 70% of women in some countries. Tantamount to a global war against baby girls. Honor killings: murder committed by males (usually relatives) who consider a woman to be unchaste and/or to have defiled the family"s honor. Practice found particularly among muslims, hindus and arab christians. Less common in 21st century, yet about 5,000 deaths per year. Female genital mutilation is another problem in developing world. At least 200 million women have had this happened to them today. People taken against their will and forced into working in salve-like practices, usually involving debt bondage (paying off debt) or sexual slavery. Feminism: belief that men and women should have equal rights and equal opportunities. Some people don"t identify with feminism because of its connotation.
