Number of people involved in cooperative effort. Each of us belongs to multiple teams, either voluntarily or by being given no choice. Athletics is one of the many places in which we find teams. Most teams are made up of individuals who are different in any number of ways. When we talk about teams in the workplace, the concept of diversity includes many other differences, such as age, personality, leadership style, work ethics, job function, and many more. Teamwork is one of most important diversity skills we need to learn, practice, and continue to develop. Because diversity can interfere with unity, teams often fall short of their goals. Different perspectives, talents, and experiences make some stronger and others weaker. Recently, organizations are becoming more team-oriented, flexible, and collaborative. Businesses are using teams to improve marketing, customer services, and productivity. Composition of teams is becoming more diverse.
