It is not, however, about feeling good about ourselves. It"s about raising awareness, understand, and valuing differences. Affirmative action focuses on increasing the number of diverse employees hired. However, diversity aims at changing organizations culture to be more accepting. Affirmative action is mandatory, but diversity is voluntary. Inclusion is a process of promoting sense of belonging and valuing unique talents. In an inclusive environment, no one should sacrifice individuality to be accepted. Provides lesson that it is ok to be open about differences regarding race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, language, and many more. In the workplace, it creates team, fosters productivity, and boosts profits and creativity.
