Plessy v ferguson: the decision of separate but equal is handed down. Racial legislation was doled out and managed on a more local level. Case studies of jim crowe laws: first amendment rights suspended if you are writing about social equality or intermarriage of blacks and whites on mississippi and you can get a misdemeanor. In louisiana if you own an apartment complex and already rent out white tenants you cannot fill an open unit with a black resident or you can be convicted of a misdemeanor. De facto (carry similar wait to law, but not actually law) Black drivers could not pass white drivers on the road. All black men are addressed as boy white boys addressed as sir. No black person could offer a handshake to a white person, a white person must offer their hand. No black male could speak to a white female: these were all enforced through violence, again not through law.
