Definitions: sex: biological, physiological aspects of being male or. Female : gender: social and psychological aspects of being. Male or female : gender identity: person"s feeling/sense of their own gender, binary: boy/man or girl/woman, nonbinary: in between gender fluid or outside of. Gender queer : transgender: gender identity and sex do not align as expected, cisgender: gender identity and sex align as expected. Gender role: how girls/women and boys/men are expected to behave and how you carry them out. Male traits: confident, ambitious, independent, competitive, assertive, achievement oriented, also called instrumental traits . Female traits: warm, sensitive, able to express tender feelings, often put others above self, also called expressive traits . Gender scripts: expectations, cultural messages, gender appropriate behaviors. Big wheel men should be financial/occupationally successful. Sturdy oak not emotional especially around family. Liberated men men in touch with their feelings. Superwoman doing everything married w kids and job. Satisfied single mostly in young women.
