Schemas: organized systems of actions or thought that allow us to mentally represent or think about the objects and events in our world: adaption. Features of piaget"s stages of cognitive development: they always occur in the same order, no stage is skipped, each stage is a significant transformation. Sensorimotor (0-2 yrs: imitation, memory and thought develop, recognize object permanence, beginning of goal directed actions.
