Individual data files are not related to other files. End users own their data files rather than share them with other users. If updated information is not disseminated properly, the change will not be reflected in come users" data. Single-view model files are structured, formatted, and arranged for the specific needs of the primary user. Centralizes the company"s data into common database shared by other users. All users have access to the data. Users are constrained only limited by the data available and their user level of authority. Access to data is controlled by database management system (dbms) Software system permits users to access authorized data only. System documentation is used by system designers and auditors. Uses symbols to represent the entities, processes, data flows, and data stores to that pertain to a system.
