Emerson: humans and nature are beautiful- emerson. Maybe other trees wouldn"t have the capacity to understand. Very intellectual- emerson comes up with good points but sometimes they are hard to understand. The trees would be preachy- makes sense because. Emerson is a preacher: emerson"s ideas compare to whitman"s -emerson has more focus on nature and says all of the questions can be answered by things in nature. Whitman discusses more about people/society and nature: his views on spirituality and religion- (234) - things are slowly progressing and we have a place in that. Not everything will be positive, we need to struggle - nature reflects a larger divine scheme. We can"t just pray to a god to make everything better. We must let our lives ebb and flow as it does in nature. There"s a rule of 5 in nature- master design.
