Virginia woolf was born in london in the year 1882. She was an author, feminist, as well as a journalist who was famous for her. Nonlinear prose style. she was born into a wealthy english household and instead of attending school, she was educated by her parents. Virginia had a rough childhood and at the age of six was sexually abused by two of her half brothers. In addition, she was known for her mood swings as well as for her bouts of deep depression which drove her to attempt suicide multiple times as a child. She was institutionalized three times throughout her life and in 1941, she committed suicide. A room of one"s own begins with virginia talking about her thesis: Women must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction. Mary, the narrator, begins the story at oxbridge.
