Abraham sacrificing son isaac foreshadows jesus" death/resurrection. Troplogical sense: moral lessons drawn from text. We must imitate the faith of abraham. Anagogical sense: references to the end times. Lift our minds to the heavenly jerusalem. Definition: extended metaphor, in which objects, persons, and actions in a narrative, are equated with the meanings that lie outside the narrative itself in a one-to-one correlation.
